announced this morning that Aisha Tyler, who’s been seen in an assload of TV shows, has been cast opposite Kevin Bacon in James Wan’s DEATH SENTENCE! I don’t know what’s more exciting, the fact that Bacon is back doing his thing, or that Wan has jumped back into the director’s seat!
Based on a novel by Brian Garfield, SENTENCE goes a little something like this: The story centers on a father out for revenge after his family is attacked in a heinous gang-initiation crime. The father acts on his own sense of justice by going after each person involved in the crime.
Nothing like a good ol’ revenge flick from the director of to make your day! Aisha plays the local homicide detective who helps Bacon in his plot for revenge. Interesting enough, the character was originally written as a 50 year old man, and was changed for Tyler during casting. 50 year old man, twenty-something hottie… pretty much the same thing.
I loved SAW, I’m a fan of Bacon, and revenge movies seem to yank my crank in the right direction, meaning that DEATH SENTENCE is looking to be one kick ass ride. No word on when filming is set to begin, but we’ll keep you posted as soon as we hear it!
