Memorium Shrieks

If you plan on checking out this year’s Shriekfest (click HERE for more info.), then you’ll be happy to know that Amanda Gusack’s IN MEMORIUM will be making it’s world premiere there in Hollywood on September 30th!


Not exactly sure what IN MEMORIUM is all about? Check it: Two months after being diagnosed with stage-four cancer, Dennis Wade (Erik McDowell) decides to chronicle his illness. He and his girlfriend, Lily, (Johanna Watts) sublet a house and install motion-triggered security cameras throughout. A few days later, the cameras capture something unsettling: Noises and movement in empty rooms. The next morning, Dennis’ cancer begins to advance at an inexplicable rate. As Dennis worsens by the day, he and Lily discover the horrific source of the disturbances. With time running out, they must make a decision: Leave the house and save her life…or stay and save his.


Ok, so the concept of ‘weird shite happening’ is cool, but the initial premise of ‘I have cancer, let’s install security cameras in my house’ is about as lame as they come. Not only is it lame, but it’s a reach- I mean, really, who does that? Either way, it’s been scaring the bejesus out of folks in the film fest circuits across the country, so it must be doing something right, right?


The flick stars Erik McDowell, Joanna Watts, Levi Powell and Mary Portser, and is written and directed by Gusack. The chick above looks scared out of her mind, and when you’re talking horror, that’s a very crucial mark to hit, so kudos.
