With the next-gen console wars starting to heat up as the Nintendo Wii and PS3 ready for launch, Capcom are dropping hints of something happening this Friday concerning one of their newer franchises.

As most fans know, there will be a DEVIL MAY CRY 4. Problem is, anything pertaining to the game is nonexistent, save for a trailer that Capcom put together using footage from DMC 3, and even though word is that the game will supposedly be playable on the floor at the 2006 Tokyo Game Show later this month. Heck, the game wasn’t even at this past May’s E3!

However, over at Capcom’s Japanese site page for the game, a countdown of sorts started a couple days ago, with it ending this Friday (Japanese time, of course). What the countdown’s for is anyone’s guess. Before the countdown appears, a slick flash animation shows a sentence in both Japanese and English.

The sentence in question appears to be a cryptic teaser about DMC4’s plot. The animation then ends with the logo for the game, including a sillouette of what could be Dante (or his half-brother Vergil), sporting what looks like a sword grafted to their right arm.
