We got a couple of exclusive? behind the scenes pics of John Carpenter on the set of the documentary GOING TO PIECES: THE RISE AND FALL OF THE SLASHER FILM. By exclusive, I mean they were exclusively sent to every frickin’ website that genre fans might conceivably visit.
Still, the project sounds cool and who can get enough of the grumpiest man in genre filmmaking. Not me!
Here’s the synopsis for the project:
Going to Pieces provides a comprehensive look at the importance, prominence and newfound legitimacy of the horror film genre, specifically “slasher” films. The feature-length documentary contains interviews with … [people] including Wes Craven, John Carpenter, Rob Zombie, Tom Savini, Stan Winston, Joseph Stefano, and Betsy Palmer … Interspersed in the film are some of the most memorable scenes from classic films of the genre, as well as many current box-office favorites. The documentary is based on the book of the same title by Adam Rockoff.
