Lordi makes movie

Ammon gave ya’ll the skinny on monster rock group Lordi (NOTE: that’s monster rock group, not monster rock group) a few weeks back, so when this news trickled across my desk I figured I’d pass it along.

It appears that they’re looking to follow in the footsteps of Rob Zombie and Marilyn Manson by taking the horror elements of their onstage aesthetic onto the big screen.

Here’s the scoop:

The band’s frontman, Tomi Putaansuu, also known as Mr Lordi, told Finland’s biggest evening paper Ilta-Sanomat about the plans.

‘We are very enthusiastic about this. We have talked about this for months and the first version of the script has already been made,’ Putaansuu was quoted as telling the newspaper.

The storyline is based on an idea by Lordi and director Pete Riski, who has directed several of the group’s videos.

Not sure what to expect from the group, but I’d certainly hope for a full on monster mash! Click here for a bit more on the project.
