It looks like Quentin Tarantino is rocking his socks off with GRIND HOUSE, as he’s showing interest in yet another horror flick, this time a remake of a Dutch horror movie that… hasn’t even come out yet!!!
According to DARK HORIZONS Tarantino started expressing interest in the project after being shown a 20 minute reel of the film, which is scheduled to hit Holland theaters on August 4th. DEAD END’s concept is cool enough, as it tells the f*cked up story of a group of friends who seek refuge in an old house in Scotland, only to find that the house is actually cursed. What kind of curse, you ask? Once someone walks into a room… they can’t get out. See? DEAD END. Get it.
I actually think you could do a lot with that concept, and I’m sure the Dutch version is as modern as can be, but anything with Tarantino involved spells pure gold in my book, and as most people won’t likely see the original, it probably wouldn’t be a bad idea. Of course, it’d be nice if he wrote something original, but since DEATH PROOF is original… well, we have nothing to complain about.
Nothing’s confirmed or denied at this point, but one thing’s for sure- nothing’s official.
