BLACK DAHLIA – October 10th
If watching some true horror of a real life psychopath yanks your crank, this should be exciting to the max. While it’s not based on the true story of The Black Dahlia from 1947, it is about a copycat killer, who likes to slice and dice his victims in the same fashion. What’s that fashion, you ask? Well I guess you’ll have to check out the flick on DVD when it comes out. Hmmmm, just in time for the theatrical release of the Brian De Palma flick of the same name…. coincidence? I think not.

SLITHER – October 24th
This almost makes me wish that all kick ass horror flicks bombed at the box office, because all the cool shite attached to this disc is bomb-bastic! I mean, really, do you think they could have slipped a little more on here? I for one enjoyed the humor and the slime of the flick, and can’t wait to watch Elizabeth Banks gooed up over and over and over again. And what’s this? Just in time for Halloween? Couldn’t have planned it better myself.

THE BUTTERFLY EFFECT 2– October 10th
While I’m a fan of the Ashton Kutcher/Amy Smart time travel flick, I don’t know if I’m going to be able to get into this STD. Why? To tell ya the truth, this Eric Lively fella does nothing for me. Nothing! He kind of bugs me. After sitting through the trailer I realized that I couldn’t sit through the whole thing rooting for that guy! But I will say this: co-star Erica Durance is f*ckin’ hot. Amy Smart hot? Eh, almost. But almost is pretty good. And since she frolics in close to nothing through half the movie, I suppose that makes this one worth a view.

CELLO – July 25th
I’m afraid of cellos, but not because I’m afraid of them killing me- more like, I’m afraid of being made to play an instrument. Yes, I have a scarred childhood. No, I don’t wanna get into it. Tartan Extreme is at it again, this time a cello player is haunted by crazy dreams of death and destruction after a savage car accident. Definitely worth a look, as just watching the trailer made me almost poop myself. Almost. Plus, being covered in blood never looked so good!

HOUSE OF THE DAMNED – September 5th
This movie only proves why it’s a bad idea to stay the night in abandoned castles. How these people thought it was a good idea is beyond me, but it resulted in one classic haunted house story back in 1963. The artwork below is rockin’, which leads me to another truth- abandoned castles that look like this shouldn’t be touched with a ten foot pole.

MASTERS OF HORROR: DANCE OF THE DEAD – September 12th – Because Tobe Hooper actually did some decent work with this one, and these days that’s saying a lot!
FRANKENSTEIN: THE TRUE STORY– September 26th – Because TV shows from the 70s are entertaining in their own way. And Jane Seymour’s in this one.
KING KONG: DELUX EXTENDED EDITION – November 14th – Because it wasn’t long enough the first time around.
That’s all for this week! Stay tuned every week for your latest DVD news, and as always, feel free to shoot me an email (ammongilbert@joblo.com
