As the saying goes, the book is always better. True statement for book to screen adapations across the board, even more so when it comes to horror book adaptations from Stephen King and Dean Koontz. So when it was announced today that Sergei Lukyanenko’s NIGHT WATCH was to finally be released in it’s English translation, I just about died of happiness right then and there!
NIGHT WATCH, one of the most successful Russian movies ever, and a straight-up kick ass good time, was based on this novel first- meaning, if anything, the novel’s going to be even better when it comes to rockin’ the classic tale of good vs evil.
Translated from Russian by Andrew Bromfield, the novel is looking to hit bookselves next Wednesday, July 26th from Miramax Books, And what’s even better? DAY WATCH and DUSK WATCH, the remainder of the trilogy of books/films, will also be translated to an English version coming this January, and next July.
If your lazy summer days don’t include reading a good book, I suggest you rush down to the bookstore next Wednesday and pick up this book for some summer reading fun- like the movie, I’m sure it won’t let you down.
