The news magazine CanMag has reported today that the big screen adaptation of the Saturday morning cartoon HE-MAN have been put on the back burner, at least for the time being.
If you’re like me, you’re blown away by the news that they actually had a new HE-MAN movie in the works, but I guess they were… and we’ll just have to wait a little bit longer to see who’s gonna rock as the master of the universe. Or better yet, Skeletor.
But what’s even crazier is that John “I love Slo-Mo and doves” Woo was lined up to direct both features! Man, that’d be awesome! But alas, Woo is headed back to is native land to do some flicks with Chow Yun Fat, and thus…. HE-MAN has been put on hold.
According to the magazine, The Rock had been floated around as once having some interest in the flick, as well as Triple H and Paul Walker both being up for the role as He-Man. If that’s not just wacky, then you can slap me big time and throw me in a trash can.
Interesting stuff to say the least, but I hope they wait for Woo, as I think he’d do a kick ass job at bringing HE-MAN back into our Universe. To check out the entire article, in which they discuss the SPY HUNTER video game adaptation, go ahead and click HERE.
