The boys over at IGN FilmForce had the chance to chat it up with THE HITCHER remake producer Brad Fuller, and he had some interesting things to say, not only about THE HITCHER, but about another remake they have in the works…. THE BIRDS!

We’re not remaking Hitchcock’s movie. That movie stands on its own and it is a wonderful piece of filmmaking.

He goes on to say that it’s more based on the short story by Daphne Du Maurier (Hitchcock based his film on the said story), and that the film will use a lot of the stuff that Hitchcock didn’t use from the original story. The concept of birds, certainly, that’s the core of the movie but the situations and the plot come from the short story not from the Hitchcock film.

Ok. So they’re remaking THE BIRDS, but not remaking THE BIRDS. Right. Make up your mind, man! Anyway, I’m not a fan of the remake craze, and I’m really not a fan of remaking Hitchcock (PSYCHO anyone?), so to me, the whole concept sounds bad.

To check out the rest of the talk, including who won’t be directing THE BIRDS, and other cools things on THE HITCHER, go ahead and click HERE. And stick around for more updates on these and other remakes, as you know this won’t be the last!
