Barker’s Plague Pics

I must have been vacationing on the moon earlier this week, because I had no clue that Clive Barker’s THE PLAGUE was gearing up to be released in a straight to DVD feature! Yeah, no kidding! But it gets better… it stars James ‘Don’t call me Dawson’ Van Der Beek! OH man!

Released by Sony Pictures, THE PLAGUE DVD is set to hit shelves on September 5th, just in time for Labor Day (well, it’s a day late, but who’s counting?). Some of you who may be aware of Barker’s classic story, but for others it’s a brand new tale of kids going into coma’s due to a plague, only to come to some 10 years later with superhuman abilities. And a thirst for death and destruction. How this could only get DVD love and not the theatrical treatment is beyond me… but what’s more beyond me is that James f*cking Van Der Beek is in this!!! Am I the only one who finds that crazy???

Fangoria scored a couple of new images from the film today, and while they’re nothing too spectacular or speem worthy, they’re definitely worth a look- especially for all you Barker fans out there. To check out more of the one pictured here, as well as another one, go ahead and click HERE, and wait for THE PLAGUE to hit video stores September 5th.
