A couple years back a dude with what looked like a video camera and couple of friends made the shark infested feature OPEN WATER. Hailed for being scary and independant, this flick was hyped beyond belief… and honestly, I hardly cared for it. Boring is one word that comes to mind when thinking about that flick, but hey- that’s just me.
Needless to say I was surprised as hell when the boys over at BlairWitch.de gave me a heads up that they have an assload of new images from the upcoming OPEN WATER 2! What? They made a sequel? Who knew? They did, and it’s lookin’ like what most sequels are supposed to do- aim the stakes higher. Before there were two people… this time, it’s a boatful. Check out the synopsis:
A weekend cruise on a luxurious party yacht goes horribly wrong for a
group of
old high-school friends. They forget to let the ladder down before they
jump
into the ocean for a swim. The boat proves impossible to climb. They
are stuck
in the water many miles from shore, with baby Sara left alone on board.
Sara’s
mother Amy must contend with her aqua-phobia as well as the group’s
increasing
desperation, as the friends begin to turn on each other. Soon the
exhaustion of
keeping afloat and the struggle to get back on board begin to take a
terrible
toll. The happy reunion turns into a fight for survival…

I’m not sure when it’s looking to be released, but according to THIS, it’ll be hitting theaters October 8th. I have a feeling that’s the German release date, so stick around as we hear more about it’s worldwide release!
