Filardi on It!

Fangoria scored a chat with writer Peter Filardi over this past weekend at Fango’s Weekend of Horrors in Burbank, CA. The dude wrote TV’s ‘SALEMS LOT, and now he just finished adapting another Stephen King story, THE ROAD VIRUS HEADS NORTH, a short story on TNT’s NIGHTMARES AND DREAMSCAPES.

But what did the dude talk about that has me all pumped up? Apparently he’s currently working on a revisualization of King’s masterpiece IT, which was done so-so back in ’90. This time he’s looking to do it for the Sci-Fi Channel (instead of ABC) as a four hour event! IT is easily my favorite King novel of all time, as not only is it well developed, but it scared the bejesus outta me! And while I liked the John Ritter version, those who’ve read the book knows it could have been so much better!

This news could have just made my day! Clowns have never been the same since seeing the movie, then reading the book definitely made me stay clear of clowns- and Tim Curry! He’s the only thing I’d bring back from the original TV-movie- too f*ckin’ cool.

To check out the rest of what Filadi had to say, including info. on his adaptation of Clive Barker’s COLDHEART CANYON, go ahead and click HERE. And stay tuned for more info. on the newly adapted IT as we hear it!
