It’s been reported that THE OMEN remake will have the new trailer for THE WICKER MAN remake attached to it. Fortunately for everyone, Apple.com now has the trailer online, so you don’t have to shell out your hard earned bucks for THE OMEN just to check it out!
THE WICKER MAN stars Nicolas Cage, Leelee Sobieski and Ellen Burstyn, and looks like your average tale of crazed religion and missing girls. As the synopsis states, a sheriff investigating the disappearance of a young girl from a small island discovers there’s a larger mystery to solve among the island’s secretive, neo-pagan community.
SILENT HILL popped into my noggin after watching the TRAILER, where the similarities between missing little girls and burning witches were uncanny (and I must have blinked, because I don’t think I saw one shot of Sobieski at any point). Overall though, it started spookin the bejesus out of me as it was nearing its climatic end. I think the trailer for this beat THE OMEN’s trailer 20 folds over!
I couldn’t tell you for sure how this looks compared to the original, as I have yet to NetFlix the Christopher Lee version, but based on the trailer alone, I’m thinkin’ it’s gonna rock! And we get to experience it earlier than I thought, as THE WICKER MAN is slated to hit theaters September 1st! Hard to tell whether it’s gonna be an R or PG-13 rated feature, but I’m thinking it’s leaning towards R- maybe it’s just the tone of the trailer, but it seems to be marketed more towards adults than teens.
