Wild Cast

When I first heard they were doing a puppet/animated adaptation of Maurice Sendak’s WHERE THE WILD THINGS ARE, I just about wet myself. And then I heard that writer/direct Spike Jonze (BEING JOHN MALKOVICH) was at the helm, and I really did wet myself. And today, I have even more reasons to wear a diaper.

The Hollywood Reporter got word today that Benicio Del Toro, Michael Berry Jr., Paul Dano, Tom Noonan, Catherine O’Hara, Forest Whitaker and Michelle Williams have all been tapped to lend their voice talents in the flick! Wow- nice cast! No specifics were released (like who’ll be voicing Max), but with Del Toro in the game, it doesn’t really matter- I’m totally there!!!

I think we’re finally at a point with special effects that WILD THINGS will be brought to the big screen in the way it deserves, and won’t come off fake or goofy. And who better than the crack-job Jonze at the wheel, as ADAPTATION totally kicked my ass and then some. So stick around, as more voice-casting is sure to come!
