Caruso’s Disturbed

The Hollywood Reporter let it be known today that Dreamworks’ first flick since being taken over by Paramount is going to be DISTURBIA, a psychothriller from director D.J. Caruso (TAKING LIVES).

So why’s this so cool? Shi LaBeouf’s set to star as a troubled kid who’s under house arrest, and then finds out his neighbors a serial killer- or so he thinks. Who’s LeBeouf you ask? He played Keanu Reeves’ sidekick in CONSTANTINE! I don’t know about you, but that kid grew on me! I’m stoked to see him in another genre feature.

Not only that, but the script was reworked by Carl Ellsworth, who also had a hand in writing the decent RED EYE. Sure, TAKING LIVES was pretty horrible, but the story sounds like it could be kinda fun, depending how they work it. Reminds me of FRIGHT NIGHT, you know… without the vampires. Stick around as we hear more casting news in the next couple weeks!
