They say horror movies is where a lot of folks in the movie industry start out- then they move on to do bigger and better things, becoming famous and all but forgetting their horror past. Take Brad Pitt in CUTTING CLASS, or Jennifer Aniston in LEPRECHAUN for example- huge frickin’ stars now, but nothing to think twice about back then.
Today we stumbled across a new little prison horror flick entitled THE FURNACE, directed by William Butler- who incidently had smaller roles in FRIDAY THE 13TH PART 7 and LEATHERFACE: TCM 3. And now look at him- a movie director! How frickin’ cool is that? And a prison horror movie at that!
Filmed on location at The Tennessee State Prison in Nashville, THE FURNACE stars horror favorite Danny Trejo, Tom Sizemore and Ja Rule! Nice cast! Now I scoured the site trying to find a synopsis, or a just a line about what the story is all about… and I couldn’t find any. But Trejo, Sizemore and Ja Rule in prison- and it’s a horror movie- it doesn’t matter! I’m so there!
The unofficial site is now loaded with an assload of behind the scene pictures from the set- like the one below. Be sure to check it out, and remember- Butler is a dude rooted in the industry, and continues to create more of what he loves- the horror. Gotta respect that!
