If you’re fan of THE EXORCISM OF EMILY ROSE, or at least interested in the real story of what happed to Anneliese Michel, then you might be interested in the new movie that attempts to tell a different side of the story from German director Hans-Christian Schmid.
It’s called REQUIEM, and according to HorrorMovies.ca this take on the story goes a bit like this:
The story starts in the early 1970’s, when the young German student Michaela Klinger (Sandra Hüller) leaves her very religious home to start her studies in Tübingen. After enjoying the first steps into her new freedom she begins to feel chased by inner voices. She comes to the conclusion that she is possessed by demons. At first she fights against it, but then she voluntarily seeks help in an Exorcism..
Ok, so like I said, it’s based on the same story, just takes a different angle. By checking out the flick’s TRAILER, you can see that this film is taking on the dramatic side of the tale- a side that explores how something like this could really tear your world apart.
I personally thought EMILY ROSE was a really well made film, successfully combining courtroom drama and horror into one tasty morsel, with some seriously intense scenes to keep things rolling. Going in with a different mindset of what to expect for this film, I’d say it’s definately worth a watch.
