BlackFilm just uploaded a gang of pics from the new BLADE TV series on SpikeTV. What’s the verdict on this quasi-made-for-TV-remake? Well, that vampire chick is hot!
The show, set to air on SpikeTV this June, is more of a two hour movie event than an ongoing TV show, and is directed by Peter O’Fallon (SUICIDE KINGS). So who’s this guy as Blade? Kirk “Sticky” Jones headlines as the new vampire killer, and co-stars along with Jill Wagner (nice fangs!), Neil Jackson, Nelson Lee and Jessica Gower.
Are we to expect the same story as the original, or we in for a different adventure? Here’s what Pancho Mansfield, Executive Vice President, Original Programming at Spike TV had to say:
“The new ‘Blade’ promises to capture what men want to see: thrilling action and effects combined with an intelligent and highly creative story.”
With David Goyer writing the script, I’m sure we’ll all be in for a treat, even if it will be edited for TV. As far as the synopsis goes, what we have is a rehash of your basic BLADE story:
“Blade” focuses on Marvel’s eponymous immortal warrior of the same name fighting a shadowy underworld of vampires who want to destroy the human race. The title character is a half-man, half-vampire who uses his incredible powers and skills to fearlessly battle the demonic creatures of the night in a blood-drenched crusade to prevent the ascendance of vampires over mankind.
Hm, yeah, that’s original. Anyway, the pictures are cool lookin’, and I must say if they keep up with this, we’ll all be in for a treat. Plus, that vampire is a frickin’ hottie, yo! Not sure why Blade’s all up on her, but whatevah, I’d tune into that!
