Jane’s a Mutant

Variety reporter earlier today that our man THE PUNISHER, Thomas Jane himself, has signed on to headline the sci-fi epic THE MUTANT CHRONICLES, based on the role-playing board game.

The story goes a bit like this (in case you didn’t know):

Set in the 23rd century, four giant corporations have pillaged the last of the planet’s resources, causing a demonic, marauding army of underworld NecroMutants to wage war against humans for what remains. .

Jane will play a soldier who battles these NecroMutant a-holess. The flick, which sounds like an assload of fun (but has serious potential to blow donkey balls) is going to be directed by Simon Hunter (DEAD OF NIGHT).

No word on other casting decisions, but we’ll let you know as soon as we hear it! CHRONICLES is set to start filming this spring.
