Sometimes you hear an idea and your initial reaction is just to laugh, but over time it grows on you and you start to realize it’s got real potential. That is not the case with THE DIONAEA HOUSE, a WB horror thriller being sheparded by HARRY POTTER producer David Heyman.
When I first heard about the project I wondered if it would actually get anywhere, but The Hollywood Reporter shares today that Aussie Peter Cornwell is in negotiations to helm. I guess it’s gonna happen, which is a fact that puzzles me to no end. Why? Read the description.
The story centers on a married man who has grown apart from his old friends. When one of them commits a double murder-suicide, the men feel compelled to investigate, eventually stumbling upon an evil force that perpetuates itself through tract housing.
Yep, tract housing. In my best John McEnroe voice I just want to yell, “You can’t be serious!” Looks like they are though, so here’s hoping that the script was so completely awesome that the lame-sounding concept ceased to matter.
