It’s official: George A. Romero’s next film is going to be the adaptation of Stephen King’s FROM A BUICK 8 for Chesapeake Films.

Adapted by Johnathon Schaech (ROADHOUSE 2) and Richard Chizmar (founder of Cemetery Dance Publications), King’s story goes a bit like this:

“From a Buick 8” is the story of a state trooper who is killed on the side of the road. The man’s colleagues try to help his son cope, but when the boy discovers his father’s dark secret in the barracks’ back shed, things start to stir not only in the shed but in the hearts and minds of the veteran troopers who surround him.

Pretty sweet book, though not as hard core horror as some of his others- I certainly had fun reading it! Plus, Romero and King combining forces once again! The two have never let me down- even King himself is excited for it:

“I’m very excited that George is interested in directing ‘From a Buick 8′”

Aren’t we all! Look for more news and updates on BUICK 8 as we here it!
