Wow, it must be that time of year where studios are trying to pry your financial aid cheque away from you. DVDAnswers received word late last night that FOX is releasing an Anniversary Edition of cult-fave EDWARD SCISSORHANDS (starring Captain Jack Sparrow himself, Johnny Depp), and Columbia Pictures is releasing a boxset for the SPECIES Trilogy, starring the very yummy Natasha Henstridge.

EDWARD SCISSORHANDS will be on shelves November 8th, and should set you back around $14.98. The film itself will be presented in 1.85:1 anamorphic widescreen, along with an English 4.0 Dolby Surround track. Extras will includee a commentary track with director Tim Burton, a second commentary track with composer Danny Elfman, a 4 minute featurette, interview clips with Johnny Depp, Winona Ryder, Dianne Weist, Tim Burton, Caroline Thompson, Alan Arkin, Vincent Price and Danny Elfman, concept artwork, trailers and TV spots. FOX even decided to put out a limited edition tin with 6 collectible photos, priced at around $19.98.

The SPECIES TRILOGY, which includes the special editions of all three SPECIES films, rips onto DVD September 20th. In addition to that, the set will include an exclusive bonus disc. This will house a number of new featurettes (“The Origin”, “The Concept”, “The Discovery”, “Designing A Hybrid”, “HR Giger At Work”, “Species II: Eve of Destruction” and “Species III: Genesis”) and a never-before-seen alternate ending for the first film. This set should set you back somewhere in the region of $35.95.
