Doom not doomed?

We’ve all been saying it for hella days now: the DOOM movie is going to blow ass. Doesn’t matter if The Rock is in it, doesn’t matter how much money they pump into it- video game adaptations suck, and from the pics we’ve seen so far, this one doesn’t look like it’s gonna be any better.


That was before the ComiCon. Quint, over at AICN, gives a full report on his experience with the DOOM panel, including some interesting tidbits about the flick- and reasons why it doesn’t seem to be adding up to anything like DOOM at all (i.e., no hell, no demons, etc..).


Turns out the film is based entirely on DOOM 3, there are demons in it, from grandmaster Stan Winston, with little use of CGI (good shit!). Expect lots of gore! Lots of action! Lots of everything we’d expect from a DOOM movie!
