Day of the Remake

Why? Oh yeah, money, I forgot. The only reason why anyone would want to remake George A. Romero’s DAY OF THE DEAD is because zombies are hot right now… and for no other reason.

DAY, definately the crappiest of the trilogy, is going to be remade by the same folks who redid THE AMITYVILLE HORROR, and the upcoming TERROR TRAIN and WICKER MAN. Producers Avi Lerner, Randall Emmett and James Dudelson are looking to bring this zombie romp to the screen…again… in partnership with Nu Image/ Millennium Films.

Not to say that there can’t be a HELL of a lot of improvement to DAY, but COME ON!!! What’s the big frickin’ deal? Zombies are hot right now… and there’s plenty of zombie scripts out there waiting to get made- give us something original for cripes sake!

I won’t say any more, other than “this is f*ckin’ weak”.
