Cabin 2 Action

It’s not everyday there’s a courtbattle and legal action taken place due to a sequel to a horror flick. But I guess today isn’t any ordinary day. I don’t know why, it just isn’t.

The flick? CABIN FEVER 2. The problem. Lions Gate didn’t like Eli Roth’s scripts for the sequel, so they turned to Adam Green (of HATCHET fame) for a script. He wrote the script they loved… and now Roth’s pissed!

But enough with my blabbering, hear it from the horses mouth (aka Green himself):

“I wrote what was supposed to be the draft. Lions Gate came to me, based on my script for HATCHET, and asked me for an idea. I gave them the concept, they hired me, they paid me, there’s a contract, I wrote it and it was going into production. Roth got very angry with Lions Gate. He really wanted to do it. He has written three different scripts for CABIN FEVER 2 and they [Lions Gate] didn’t like them. Now it’s all tied up in legal issues. The last I heard was that CABIN FEVER 2 was in limbo and, if it doesn’t get fixed soon, there’s a chance that the movie will never happen, because it has already been so long since the first one.”

Because us horror movie freaks have short attention spans that last no less than 2 years. Max. Er…. Anyway, it’s definately some crappy news, as FEVER 2 would really be an awesome flick, no matter who’s script the Lions went with.
