Children shouldn’t remake

Variety reported today that director/producer Bob Clark and producer Victor Solnicki have joined forces to make a slew of new films- including (yet another) remake of a classic horror flick.

At least this time, the writer and director of the original will be back to write and direct the remake. The film? CHILDREN SHOULDN’T PLAY WITH DEAD THINGS, which was Clark’s writer/directorial debut back in ’73. Set to filmed in B.C. for around 12 millions smackers this September, CHILDREN was a dip of zombie fun, and a good choice to remake (honestly, the title is the best thing it has going for it).

In other news, Clark’s BLACK CHRISTMAS is also in the works to be remade, with Glen Morgan (FINAL DESTINATION) writing and directing, with James Wong (FD) and Sonlnicki producing. Quite a slate for everyone on board, but somehow I think these guys can pull it off…
