We got word on the new Filmax International flick, which just started filming one week ago in Spain. From director Daniel Monzon (THE HEART OF THE WARRIOR), we’re treated to THE KOVAK BOX!
It get’s better. BOX stars Timothy Hutton (THE DARK HALF), Lucia Jimenez, David Kelly (CHARLIE AND THE CHOCOLATE FACTORY) and Gary Piquer (ROMASANTA), and it basically plays like this:
David Norton is used to being in control. As a best-selling author, he decides the fate of his characters, his heroes, his villains, their lives and their deaths. But what happens when his fictional world becomes all too real?
David arrives in Majorca, an idyllic Mediterranean island, for a conference. Everything seems to be going well until his fiancée receives a strange telephone call. Suddenly, she jumps to her death from their hotel balcony. What could possibly have driven her to do this? As David desperately searches for an answer, people start dying all around him, inexplicably committing suicide.
David becomes the reluctant hero of one of his own stories, but this time, he has no idea how it ends. The writer crosses paths with a young tourist named Silvia, who has survived her own suicide attempt, and together they are plunged into a nightmarish game that could spell disaster for the whole of mankind.
To prevent this, David must now do what nobody else has done: he must somehow find a way to escape from The Kovak Box.
Yeah, creepy and odd are one way to describe it… and frickin’ cool as hell! It really sounds like a plate of good times, and it’ll be nice to see Hutton in a role that he can really strut his stuff in again!
