Coming Soon has learned that Revolution Studios’ remake of THE FOG started filming today in Vancouver!
Directed by Rupert Wainwright, who was responsible for STIGMATA, THE FOG stars hotties Selma Blair, Maggie Grace, and for the ladies- Tom Welling, DeRay Davis, and Rade Serbedgia.
Everyone on board is stoked about the remake, especially producer Todd Garner who had this to say:
“THE FOG is one of the true classics of the horror genre, and we are thrilled to be updating it for today’s audience. We are working with a tremendously talented young cast and director along with two accomplished filmmakers, John Carpenter and David Foster. We hope that this film serves as a lasting legacy to the late Debra Hill, who was instrumental in making this film possible.”
Seeing as it’s written by the same dude who wrote THE CORE (Cooper Layne), and directed by the same guy who brought us BLANK CHECK, I’m not very optimistic about this one. For one thing, it’s a pointless remake, and for another, CGI fog looks like what it is… CGI fog. Oh well… At least we’ll have Blair and Grace to oogle over.
THE FOG is scheduled to roll into theaters October 14th, 2005.
