The Hollywood Reporter dropped some news today on the next installment in the Mousetrap of horror franchaises, FINAL DESTINATION. The third one has picked up cast members Ryan Merriman (HALLOWEEN: RESURRECTION) and Mary Elizabeth Winstead (THE RING TWO).
Original director James Wong will return to the helm for CHEATING DEATH: FINAL DESTINATION 3, which I’d like to nominate right now as the most unwieldy title for a fun franchaise ever. That’s right, I said fun. Some have taken their pot shots, especially at the 2nd flick, but watching all those creative deaths work their way to fruition will keep me coming back until we hit PAPER CUT OF DEATH: FINAL DESTINATION 24.
Besides, this one starts off with a bunch of high school students dodging death on an amusement park ride. How great is that! Fear of roller coasters anyone?
And on a completely inappropriate note, there’s something about the troublemaking innocence emanating from Ms. Winstead’s eyes that takes me to a place her mother would be none to proud of…and so I say thank you for that!
