Murder Game On

Got a fun new for ya to check out kids! It’s a nifty little ditty called THE MURDER GAME that was shot in my current home state of Maryland. Not much genre work, or film work in general gets done in the DC/MD/VA nexus, so I must give a shout out to the creative team behind this – Robert Harari and Jason Contino – who are bucking that trend. Besides, it’s a sweet concept:

A group of teenagers play a game in which one of them is secretly chosen to be the “killer”, while the others remain innocent victims. Armed with prop weapons, the “killer” must use cunning tactics to eliminate the other players before being found out. After their parents halt the activity for fear someone may actually get hurt, the teens decide to sneak into a large mini-storage warehouse during the closed, late-night hours to hold their game. At first, the game is better than ever. But, things take a turn for the worse as one by one, the players begin dying…for real.

Cool, eh? I have some minor quibbles at first blush, like the low budget, and the main characters not looking anything like teenagers, but you know what? Who cares? The acting looks solid, the cinematography seems tight, and they’ve got at least one legitimate hottie in the cast (Christina Marchand – top right).

So keep an eye on the for release news on this bad boy…and let’s get a little love for the boys from MD!
