Hey there dudes and dudettes, have I got a fun one for you! Got an email from the filmmmakers responsible for BEYOND THE WALL OF SLEEP, an independent flick based on the H.P. Lovecraft story of the same name. If the poster above doesn’t already have you jonsein’ to check this out, wait ’til you see some storyboard samples below.
The story is about a nut job from one of those mountain communitites where saying I love you, sis has a whole new meaning. He ends up in an insane asylum where one of the doctors is running off-the-record experiments on the patients. These two hook up and soon young doc thinks there’s something dark and mysterious waiting to be released from the young man. In search of more info he heads into the mountains, only to return a changed man, and ready to unleash the terrifying darkness lying dormant in the nut job upon the world. (Please note this is not the official synopsis…I just boiled it down for ya!)
Count me in mother f*cker! The official site has a ton of cool content, including a kick ass teaser trailer (think NIN Closer video meets old Hammer horror flicks), storyboards, synopsis, and the original Lovecraft story.
Hard to be certain of anything in the genre these days, but based on the available evidence so far, BEYOND THE WALL OF SLEEP looks like one tasty treat.
