HOD2 Pics and Chat

HOUSE OF THE DEAD. Just the mention of that title and many in the genre community go into an apoplectic seizure. I happen to be in the small minority of those who found the thing to be cheesy fun, but that doesn’t change the fact that in terms of critical and box office response, this was one huge dog. So this begs the question, why the hell should fans trust the sequel will be any better? Well, the folks over at Creature Corner have posted a fairly lengthy interview with writer/producer Mark A. Altman, and he addresses the issue head on:

Altman: It’s no secret that HOD wasn’t well-received critically nor by fans. There are a variety of reasons for that. The important thing is that HOD2 is a completely stand-alone film which has virtually nothing to do with the first film and probably will not even be called House of the Dead 2. That said, I think we have a great story that’s true to the spirit of the games and the movie will speak for itself. We’re definitely not hiding this one; over the next few months, you’ll be seeing a lot of clips on the Internet, conventions, etc. We want to get the word out that this is a totally different movie that fans will hopefully love – filled with suspense, horror, gore and a lot of surprises. There’s a lot of sick, twisted stuff in this movie, as there should be in any good zombie movie, and this film is no exception.

Hey, it sounds pretty gnarly (yeah, I watched way too much Winter X Games coverage)! Lots of good stuff in the rest of the interview, and down below you can check out some new pics from the flick, along with cast hottie Emmanuelle Vaugier top right.
