Remake Train

And the remakes keep on comin’! This week, it’s the Jamie Lee Curtis killer on a train classic TERROR TRAIN that’s in negotiations of getting remade.

Maverick Films, Integrated Films & Management, and Emmet/Furla Films (all owned by Family Room Entertainment Corp.) are all teaming up for this remake- the same folks who partnered up for THE AMITYVILLE HORROR remake, along with Nulmage and Dimension.

So why TERROR TRAIN? “Suspense on a train is a classic formula that’s been relatively unexplored in recent years,” says Andy Trapani and Steve Whitney, the guys fast-trackin’ this project.

TERROR TRAIN, about a group of party-goers on a chartered train… being terrorized by a masked stalker… Yeah, I don’t think suspense on a train has been explored recently cause ? Take a clue from UNDER SIEGE 2- the formula is no longer fun and exciting!

But hey- who am I to turn down a good slasher flick, even if it is a remake. TRAIN might be a classic, but it doesn’t mean there wasn’t room for improvement.

Remaking horror flicks is a fad that’s not going away anytime soon, so I guess we might as well embrace them… except, of course, if it involves Sam Raimi and Bruce Campbell. Producers for TRAIN are currently looking for writers to put the project on the page.
