Dark Horizons got word yesterday that screenwriter Alex Garland, the demented mind behind 28 DAYS LATER, will be writing SAW 2: HACKSAW.
Seems that while James Wan and Leigh Whannell will be back to produce, Wan will not be back to direct. SAW 2 is sheduled for an October 28th release, which only leaves them about 9 months to write, cast, film, edit, market and release this bad boy.
Let’s hope it doesn’t feel as rushed as it actually is. Being a huge fan of SAW, I’d really like to see a sequel that does justice to the original. With Garland onboard, I’d say things are looking up…
