Captain Howdy.com learned today that Paul Schrader’s EXORCIST: THE BEGINNING is actually going to see light on the big screen after Renny Harlin’s blunderf*ck of a film crashed and burned at the Box Office.

Lots of EXORCIST fans have been awaiting the original version for some time now, and it’s a wonder why Morgan Creek decided to wait as long as they did- but at least they’re going to do it!

Here are some images from Shraders version, and if you head over to CaptainHowdy.com, you can check out more images from the film, as well as a video clip (a small clip, but an awesome clip none-the-less).

I really wanted to like Harlin’s version of THE BEGINNING, but it sucked too hard to walk away with any redeeming value. So I’m excited to know that I’ll be able to catch the original, and see if the studio execs were right to remake it, or horribly wrong. Shrader’s EXORCIST:THE BEGINNING hits theather’s 2005 (no specific date as of yet).
