Fox Visits Furlong

Ah, Edward Furlong, the kid in T2 that showed so much promise, who ended up being a druggie and throwing away much of his career. But do not fret, he’s back, and he’s starring in Frank Peretti’s religious horror book adaption of THE VISITATION.

Furlong plays a mysterious man who performs miracles in the small town he just happened to wander into. Everyone is stoked, except the local minister, and a few pastors- who find out he’s not a miracle worker, but a malevolent force in cahoots with the devil- and that’s when the shite hits the fan.

20th Century Fox just picked up distribution rights, and will likely release it straight to video, as Peretti’s last adaption, HANGMAN’S CURSE, did a lot better on video than it did in the theaters. Oh well Eddy, it’s better than nothing!

Directed by Kelsey T. Howard (SCORCHED), the film also stars Martin Donovan (INSOMNIA), Kelly Lynch (DRUGSTORE COWBOY) and international action star Randy Travis. Religion can be scary (THE EXORCIST), Eddy can be creepy (AMERICAN HISTORY X), and Randy Travis can be… well, Randy Travis- basically, this could be a good one to rent on some dark and stormy afternoon. No word yet on when it’s set to release.
