Move over Jamie Lee, Sarah Michelle is in the works to take over as Scream Queen for a whole new generation of horror fans. Smokin’ hot after her success in THE GRUDGE, Variety reports that Sarah Michelle Gellar has signed on for Rogue Pictures’ REVOLVER, with Asif Kapadia (THE WARRIOR) directing from a script by Adam Sussman. Gellar plays a successful business woman who’s losing sleep every night due to her vivid and terrorizing nightmares of a horrible death. This drives her to stop everything she’s doing to instigate the death of a woman some 25 years earlier- or be plagued with these nightmares forever.
Count me in for Gellar’s sake! It makes my horror-detector bounce up and down that Rogue Pictures is releasing this one, what with SHAUN OF THE DEAD and SEED OF CHUCKY under their belt of recent horror releases. And yes, the fact that Gellar’s in it definitely peaks my interest, but we all know that while she’s totally hot, it doesn’t mean everything she touches turns to gold (SCOOBY DOO 1 & 2). Although there’s no date when this will start filming, I’m sure we can look forward to seeing it on the big screen by next Halloween.
