Snake Bit

Snakes, why did it have to be snakes?

– Indiana Jones

Well folks, in a scoop delivered directly to our esteemed host JoBlo.com, New Line’s SNAKES ON A PLANE is molting, shedding skin, and goin’ through some ch-ch-changes. For those who are unfamiliar with the premise, an assassin lets a bunch of poisonous snakes loose (guess where) in order to kill a witness. Insane carnage and panic stricken chaos should certainly result. I will say this, if somebody doesn’t get bitten in the ass while hiding in the restroom, I’m gonna want my money back. On the other hand, say Salma Hayek is cast as the victim, and she makes another passenger suck the venom out (man or woman), I’ll pay double.

The Molt: David R. Ellis (FINAL DESTINATION 2) has taken the helm, replacing Ronny Yu (FREDDY VS. JASON). Ellis showed a sure hand for genre work with what turned out to be an unnecessary, yet extremely entertaining sequel. He particularly showed a deft touch in out-witting the audience expectations, sometimes by giving them exactly what they expected.

The Shed: Word is the script is being rewritten to bring maximum terror and intensity to all the claustrophobic horror. This ain’t gonna be no Sky Captain, beeyatch!

The Ch-ch-change: Oh the title…that god-awful title. Are they really going to stick with SNAKES ON A PLANE? No, amigos and amigettes. There’s no word on what the new title will be, but let’s give the filmmakers credit for recognizing lameness, and removing it like an evil twin head.
