We shared the news at the start of the month that legendary movie host Elvira was teaming up with the Netflix streaming service for a series of “Dr. Elvira” videos that will be posted on Netflix’s social media accounts (like their YouTube channel) every Sunday throughout the month of October, and things are going exactly as we were told they would. On Sunday the 3rd, a video was posted in which Dr. Elvira discussed “Stress Slashers”, and you can see that below. Embedded above we have the latest video, from October 10th, in which Dr. Elvira gives us some “Scream Therapy”.

The Dr. Elvira videos help promote Netflix’s “Netflix & Chills” programming line-up. To learn more about the films and shows Netflix will be releasing this month, click HERE. In the “Scream Therapy” video, Elvira prescribes a “full Mike Flanagan infusion”, recommending Midnight Mass, Hush, Gerald’s Game, The Haunting of Hill House, and The Haunting of Bly Manor. She also recommends a couple movies that Flanagan wasn’t involved with, but are connected to his work in some way.

Elvira recently hosted the Elvira’s 40th Anniversary, Very Scary, Very Special Special movie marathon on the Shudder streaming service. The movies shown during that special were her own feature film Elvira, Mistress of the Dark, which she starred in back in 1988, plus House on Haunted Hill (1959), The City of the Dead (1960), and Messiah of Evil (1973).

Fright-Rags is celebrating 40th anniversary of Elvira with a clothing line, and Elvira herself marked the occasion with the release of a memoir titled Yours Cruelly, Elvira: Memoirs of the Mistress of the Dark. In that book, which can be purchased at THIS LINK,

The woman behind the icon known as Elvira, Mistress of the Dark, the undisputed Queen of Halloween, reveals her full story, filled with intimate bombshells, told by the bombshell herself.
