Get Out and Us writer/director Jordan Peele’s upcoming “horror epic” Nope is set to reach theatres this Friday, July 22nd, and some very positive first reactions have already hit social media. (A selection of those reactions can be found HERE.) And now that his new movie is complete and about to be released, people are starting to wonder: what is Peele going to do next? Judging by what he just said to Deadline, what he’s going to do next is more of what he has been doing.
Peele told Deadline,
I will stay within this realm that I love, which is, I think, the only way I know how to view the world and how to tell stories at this point. Little bit of horror, little bit of comedy, but I’m always going to try and give you a big show.”

Nope is said to center on
residents in a lonely gulch of inland California who bear witness to an uncanny and chilling discovery.
Those residents are played by Daniel Kaluuya, Keke Palmer (Alice), and Steven Yeun (The Walking Dead). Also in the cast are Keith David (The Thing), Michael Wincott (The Crow), Brandon Perea (The OA), and Barbie Ferreira (Euphoria).
Peele was definitely aiming to give viewers a “big show” with Nope, as you can tell from the fact that it’s being marketed as a “horror epic”. Speaking with Fandago recently, Peele said,
I wrote it in a time when we were a little bit worried about the future of cinema. I wanted to create a spectacle, something that the audience would have to come see, and so I set my sights on the great American UFO story here. It’s a horror epic but it has some points in it that are meant to elicit a very audible reaction in the theater. So hopefully when we go see it, we’re going to hear a lot of ‘NOPE,’ walking out, walking back in. That’s what I’m looking for.”
