Is Netflix planning a significant expansion of its Money Heist series? According to Alvaro Morte, who played the Professor in the original series, that’s exactly what’s happening. Morte announced Netflix’s ambitious plans for the series expansion at the Seville world premiere of Berlin Season 2 on Saturday. In addition to sharing the news, Netflix unveiled a statement and brief teaser trailer for the franchise’s return.
Netflix teases the return of Money Heist
“Some stories start with the perfect strike. And this one changed everything,” Netflix said. “From the first heist for cash to the most artful robbery of the century, including the assault that put tons of gold from the Bank of Spain on the line, the universe of ‘Money Heist’ has never stopped growing, evolving, and surprising us. But if there’s one thing that’s clear, it’s that the revolution NEVER ends. From now on, this is mission control for everything in the ‘Money Heist’ universe. If you want in on the next plan and don’t want to miss a single move from the gang, this is the place to be. The world of Money Heist continues at Netflix.”
How will Money Heist return to Netflix?
Some fans are confused about the format of Money Heist‘s return: will it be multiple seasons, character spin-offs, or Money Heist Season 6? The new teaser is stylish and explosive, but doesn’t tell us much about Netflix’s plans for the franchise’s comeback. The promo features masked characters obtaining money (cash and gold bars) in a variety of heists. It reminds me of a Payday or Call of Duty cinematic.
Last month, the Spanish newspaper El País shared other Money Heist-related news, saying that the show’s creator, Alex Pina, is filming a four-episode miniseries focusing on Colonel Tamayo, played by Fernando Cayo.
Are you a Money Heist fan? I’ve never seen the show, but I’ve always been curious. The masks the characters wear remind me a little of V from V for Vendetta, obviously. Would you prefer another season of the show, multiple character-focused miniseries, or something else entirely? What type of mask would you wear if you were planning a heist? C’mon, you can tell us. It’s not like someone’s going to trace your comment back to this site if you do manage to put a heist together. You can store the goods at the Bank of Steve. We give great rates.
