Alien series: Noah Hawley talks about potential Alien TV show!

Last Updated on August 2, 2021

Okay, okay, this has been a slow news day, so – upfront – no Noah Hawley is not currently working on an ALIEN TV show as of this writing. However, he did do an interview with Deadline today (nominally about the most recent FARGO season he showran), that shed some light on where Disney (who gained the rights to the franchise, post-merger) might go with the franchise:

I know that there’s an effort to reshuffle a lot of things post-Disney takeover and it was a conversation that I had a couple years back…And I have not in the last few weeks been having those conversations about it. But I know that like any studio there’s a great desire to make the most of one’s library so I wouldn’t be surprised to see something like that…

Ya know, I have conversations from time to time but I’m not committed

What's most interesting about this interview, is when Hawley said both "I have conversations from time to time" and "I have not in the last few weeks been having those conversations", means that, potentially: a) the idea of an ALIEN series – even one headed by Hawley is still a possibility, and b) that the convserations have been recent, even if currently stalled.

Of course, as a I said up-top, this is not a confirmation of anything concrete, but it does show that we should be seeing a Disney-led ALIEN show – or film – sooner rather than later. I mean, hell, a new PREDATOR film is on the way, for f*ck's sake!

So what do you guys think? And what would you like to continue the ALIEN franchise? Either way, sound off below1
