The crew of the Enterprise under Captain Pike returns in this new trailer for season 4 of Star Trek: Strange New Worlds. Paramount+ has also released new key art for the upcoming season. The 10-episode season premieres globally Thursday, July 23 on the streaming platform. New episodes will be available weekly on Thursdays through Thursday, September 24.

Season four sees the return of Anson Mount, Rebecca Romijn, Ethan Peck, Jess Bush, Christina Chong, Celia Rose Gooding, Melissa Navia, Babs Olusanmokun and Martin Quinn, along with guest stars Carol Kane and Paul Wesley.

The official synopsis reads,
“In season four of the Paramount+ Original Series, the crew of the U.S.S. Enterprise – led by Captain Christopher Pike – embark on a series of thrilling and emotional adventures across the stars. As they journey to strange new worlds, they will battle inner demons and external threats, encounter colorful new characters, reunite with familiar faces and confront terrifying aliens. Through it all, they strive to embrace a bright, hopeful future.”

The Crew

Akiva Goldsman and Henry Alonso Myers serve as co-showrunners. Alex Kurtzman, Akiva Goldsman, Henry Alonso Myers, Aaron Baiers, Dana Horgan, Alan McElroy, Robbie Thompson, Frank Siracusa, John Weber, Chris Fisher, Anson Mount, Rod Roddenberry and Trevor Roth serve as season four executive producers.

The series is produced by CBS Studios, Secret Hideout and Roddenberry Entertainment.

What to expect in the new season

“We’re so proud of this show, and we’re really proud of season four — and season five. We really think it’s our best season yet.” Rebecca Romijn said about the new season before adding, “There’s dinosaurs!” I share her excitement. Dinosaurs always make everything better.

“We explore a little about Kirk’s past and the demons that are haunting him,” said Paul Wesley, who also joked, “I’m just flattered that they’re premiering it on my birthday. Of course, that’s on purpose.”

“Season 4 is what I would call very pure Strange New Worlds,” Akiva Goldsman teased. “We move around in terms of tone, we move around in terms of genre, and then we drive it to the last six episodes, which is pretty singular.” As Goldsman mentioned, the fifth and final season, which has already wrapped production, will consist of just six episodes.
