Capcom Creates Survey To Ask Fans What the Future of Resident Evil Should Be

Last Updated on July 30, 2021

RESIDENT EVIL is one of the premiere videogame franchises, with some of the most memorable moments in gaming (who can forget the first time the zombie dog jumped through that window in RE1, saw the Licker crawling on the ceiling in RE2, or got killed AGAIN BY NEMESIS GODDAMMIT WHY DOES HE HAVE A F*CKING ROCKET LAUNCHER??!!!)

Anyway, Capcom is aware of this, and has been milking that nostalgia teat ever since the Gamecube-era with the first RESIDENT EVIL remake, which has culminated with the highly successful RESIDENT EVIL 2 remake, and the recently released RESIDENT EVIL 3 remake (with that goddamn Nemesis prick…), which is about

Jill Valentine and Carlos Oliveira as they attempt to survive a zombie apocalypse while hunted by the intelligent bioweapon Nemesis.

However, Capcom also found success with their experimental, HILLS HAVE EYES-inspired RESIDENT EVIL 7 first person game, with another addition to the RESIDENT EVIL canon, RESIDENT EVIL RESISTANCE, coming out as well.

So, with that, the company has released an online survey which – while it of course has consumer questions about both the RE 3 remake and RESIDENT EVIL RESISTANCE – it also asks people taking the survey if they would rather have more remakes or sequels, and branches off to more questions based on those responses. Now it would seem that what sells better will determine what direction the company will go, but it's still nice to see them reach out and gauge fans reactions as well.

So, what do you guys think the future of the RESIDENT EVIL series should be? You want more original sequels, or remakes? Either way, sound off below!

Meanwhile, as mentioned above, if you want to scratch your RE itch, the recent RESIDENT EVIL 3 (GET IT HERE) remake is out now!
