In the age of streaming, lots of shows come and go. Only so many get multiple seasons. Nemesis, a brand new Crime Drama (with some amazing action) written by Courtney A. Kemp (best known for the Power Universe), has dropped all eight episodes of its first season on Netflix. And I will tell you it’s one of the most binge-worthy adrenaline rushes that I didn’t know that I needed.
If you’re a fan of New Jack City, Point Break, and Training Day, you will enjoy this series. The show follows Detective Isaiah Stiles at the LAPD, obsessed with taking down career criminal Coltrane Wilder, who is not only a master robber but also maintains a positive public persona. The series goes back and forth between the two, with them basically one-upping each other, but in the process, both sides suffer consequences in their personal lives.
I was absolutely thrilled to sit down with the two on-screen rivals, Matthew Law (Stiles) and Y’lan Noel (Wilder), as they break down their characters, and also share with me what it was like working with director Mario Van Peebles, as well as the insane showdown in Downtown LA!
