I must admit, I’m no ardent gamer. In fact, I still rock a PS2…not much left to be said, is there?

With that in mind, if a videogame trailer is so badass that it can sway a casual dabbler (as it did myself), especially one inspired by two of the all-time great action-horror flicks, it ought to seem worthy of giving a day in court, no? Ah hell, just go ahead and scope the fresh trailer for Sega’s multi-character ALIENS VS PREDATOR videogame below!

Boasting 7 different game-play modes (Deathmatch, Infestation, Survivor, Predator Hunt, Domination, Species Deathmatch, and Mix Species Deathmatch), ALIENS VS PREDATOR is a first-person shooter in which you can compete as either a Marine, Predator or Xenomorph. Here’s an extensive run-down of the game:

Experience distinctly new and thrilling first person gameplay as you survive, hunt, and prey in the deadly jungles and swamps surrounding the damned colony of Freya’s Prospect.

As the Marine, you’ll experience a claustrophobic and terrifying experience where light is your friend, but there’s never enough. However, the United States Marine Corps are humanity’s last line of defense, and as such they are armed to the teeth with the very latest in high explosive and automatic weaponry.

As the Predator, you will stalk from the shadows and from above, passing athletically through the treetops to ambush your victims. Although equipped with an array of powerful, exotic weapons and tracking equipment, honor ultimately dictates that you must get in close and take your trophies face to face.

As the most deadly species in the universe, the Alien offers you the chance to play as the very stuff of nightmares – the monster in the dark swarming forward with countless others, jaws like a steel trap and claws like blades.

Play all sides off against each other in a series of unique 3-way online modes and go tooth-to-claw-to-pulse rifle in the reinvention of one of multi-player gaming’s defining moments.

Now here’s to hoping the new PEDATORS film by Nimrod Antal will match half the ferocity shown in the videogame trailer. Of course, ratcheting it up twofold would be even better!

ALIENS VS PREDATORS (the game) is released February 16th!
