Genre movie news is pouring out of this year's American Film Market, and among the interesting projects being presented to international buyers is DOUBLE DATE, a British horror comedy that marks the feature directorial debut of Benjamin Barfoot.

Written by Danny Morgan, the film follows

Jim, aided by his obnoxious but charming best friend Alex, on his quest to lose his virginity before he turns 30. The night before the big day they meet Kitty and Lulu, two beautiful sisters who seem determined to seduce them, but who secretly have another darker agenda for Jim’s birthday – virgin sacrifice.

That story sounds like the set-up for a fun viewing experience to me.

DOUBLE DATE stars Michael Socha as Alex, Georgia Groome as Lulu, Kelly Wenham as Kitty, and writer Morgan as Jim. They are joined in the cast by a slew of actors and celebrities who stop by to make cameos, including Dexter Fletcher, Tom Sturridge, Olivia Poulet, Robert Glenister, Rosie Cavaliero, Cressida Bonas, and Dougie Poynter of the band McFly.

Swedish music group Goat has provided the film's score. The soundtrack features rapper MC Big Narstie.

DOUBLE DATE was produced by Matthew James Wilkinson and Maggie Monteith. Chris Reed executive produced. Film Constellation is handling the international sales, and here's hoping some good distribution deals will be made at AFM because I really want to see this movie as soon as possible.
