A look at Sunshine

When 28 DAYS LATER came out back in 2003, I just about shat my pants, and realized it was the best thing to happen to zombies since NIGHT OF THE LIVING DEAD.

Director Danny Boyle had his shit together and then some, so it pleases me to talk about his next film, which isn’t quite horror, but definately a thrill ride.

It’s called SUNSHINE,and it goes like this: “The Sun is dying and mankind is dying with it. Our last hope: a spaceship and a crew of eight men and women. They carry a device which will breathe new life into the star. But deep into their voyage, out of radio contact with Earth, their mission is starting to unravel. Soon the crew are fighting not only for their lives, but their sanity.”

F*ckin’ A! Sure, it’s a cross between THE CORE, and EVENT HORIZON, but that’s not a bad thing! And with Boyle and Alex Garland behind the scenes, you know it’s gonna rock. Plus, check out the cast! Chris Evans (FANTASTIC FOUR), Cillian Murphy (RED EYE), Michelle Yeoh (TOMORROW NEVER DIES) and Rose Byrne (TROY) just to name a few!

Head on over to the film’s Official BLOG where you can check out some behind the scene pics, as well as a better look at this and other images from the film.

What makes this project even better? It’s aiming for a Friday, October 13th release date! That’s a surefire win in my book! Stay tuned for more updates on the film, and be sure to check out the film’s blog my clicking on Cillian Murphy’s mug.
