Just yesterday our PBR enthusiast Ammon (second only to the champagne of beers) hit you up with a few grue-filled stills from Howard and Jonathan Ford’s sweet looking African set zombie flick THE DEAD. Guess what? Yup, we’ve just scored a clutch of additional photos from the flick, which you can scroll below to find!
What strikes me as cool about this particular flick is not only the Voodoo geography of the setting, but the warlike weaponry used against leagues of the undead. Instead of prototypical horror iconography, we’ve got all kinds of firepower and gun-toting. I dunno, I get more the feel of a war picture that happens to have zombies in it rather than an out-and-out horror flick. Which I quite dig!
Let’s rerun the official synopsis for the flick, shall we:
After crashing off the coast, Lt. Brian Murphy battles for survival across the vast terrains of Africa in search for a way to get back to his beloved family. Joined by local military man Daniel Dembele who is also searching for his son, together both men join forces all the while battling against the ever present threat of the living dead!
Dan Morgan, Rob Freeman, Glenn Salvage, Benjamin James Elliot, Mark Chapman, Amir Moallemi, Prince David Oseia, Anne Devaud, David Dontoh, Ben Crowe, and Julia Scott-Russell all take part in the film.
